We teach all ages from 5 upwards, and currently have a well balanced club, with men, women, teenagers and younger kids all training.
Training focuses on traditional Taekwondo, competition sparring, padwork drills, fitness, flexibility and more.
People who come to train with us come for a number of reasons. They want to get a black belt, they want to get fit, they love competitions or they simply love the training. We also have a number of people who choose to attend to build their self confidence and help them deal with other issues such as bullying.
The club has a number of families training together and although training is conducted in a disciplined manner we always train for fun.
Beginners
First lesson is free. For your own benefit please call first to arrange to come over to the club on a suitable day, or arrive ten minutes early at least to discuss today's lesson.
Come in loose fitting clothing that you can freely move in. Please remove jewellery. You will be training in bare feet.
Beware the McDojang.
Even now people are nervous of coming to a martial arts lesson. They don't know what to expect, wonder if they'll be continually shouted at, beaten up, used for target practice or charged £50 for watching one lesson.
You are welcome to watch as many lessons as you want, free of charge so you can get a feel for the club. When you get up to train your first lesson is free. Then we can talk about training fees etc. Everything is up front with no hidden costs.
Even now i get a knock on the door every few months asking me to join the local martial arts club, all i need to do, they say, is to take advantage of our super limited time deal where i pay £80 for my first months training and get a suit free of charge. People fall for it, but have you seen them teach? Are they good instructors? is the club right for you? Does the club exist? I've seen them come and go over the years, if we're not right for you I can recommend other local clubs that might be more suited for you, and i can tell you which clubs to steer clear of.
I have been teaching Taekwondo for 13 years now, the club has been training every week (except Christmas) since that time. We don't pack up and come back in a years time to have another go. We are committed, here is what I as a coach set as the goals for the club.
